Reverend James D. Peterson was
born in Heislerville, New Jersey, where he spent his childhood. He
attended Millville Memorial High School with three honors. After high
school, he attended Asbury College and later Asbury Theological Seminary.
He joined the Southern New Jersey Methodist Conference in 1967. He
finished his seminary training at Eastern Baptist Seminary, Philadelphia,
graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. Reverend Peterson was
ordained as Elder of the United Methodist Church in 1970. Reverend
Peterson has served Neal's Creek Methodist Church, Kentucky, and Dripping
Springs Church, Kentucky. In New Jersey, he served seven years at
Gibbsboro Methodist Church and six and a half years at the Wall Methodist
Church and Cedarville Methodist for four years. Reverend Peterson
was appointed to Zion United Methodist Church in October 1983. Reverend
Peterson and his family live in the parsonage on Explorer Lane, in
the Northfield Estates section of Bargaintown, Egg Harbor Township,
New Jersey. |
